Square Code Thingies

Hi and help! I've noticed a lot of those square "bar code" thingies. If I knew what they were called, I would probably be able to find out how to get them to work with my Droid X!

So, I know that it has something to do with loading an app on the phone...doesn't it? But...what do you do with your phone to get it to read the darn thing?

1. What is the square bar code thingie called?
2. How do you get your phone to read the square bar code thingie?
3. Can you tell I'm only sorta tech-savvy?

Its called a QR code. It can be used for a lot of things. Links to websites, links to apps in the market, it can contain contact information. Depends on how you use it. To read it, you need a barcode scanner app. Go with either shop savy or barcode scanner. Open the app, activate the scanner, then then use your phones camera to read the code, and your phone will do the rest.
