Specific Issue with Gameboid ROM, mobile suit Gundam seed

When I start up mobile suit Gundam seed gba Rom, it crashes on me not 2 minutes into the gameplay. I've heard you can sometimes remedy this by altering things like max frame skip and disabling audio.

Can anyone give exact instructions on how to fix this? Of course this may just as well be one of those roms that came with a bug...
