space bar tab key split disable

I really really really dislike the new tab key spacebar split and I want my full spacebar back. I never use tab and I have zero use for it.

all it does is jump me around webpages when I try to type naturally... I don't understand why in the world a tab key would added where both my thumbs are used to a spacebar. can I have my old screen keyboard back please??

Are you using an alternative keyboard (Swype, Swiftkey, HTC IME, etc)? Are you rooted (and if so, are you running a custom ROM and which one)?

I ask because both my stock keyboard (and I'm running Cyanogenmod 6) and HTC keyboard do not have a tab key at the bottom, nor does Swype.

100% stock Motorola Droid 1.

it shows up when I am on a form like entering user name and password for logging in here. no tapatalk, web logins like gmail web or yahoo or Facebook etc.
