Ok I don't know if it actually keeps the sound on but when I turn my sound volumes down, exit and come back this is what I get. This isn't very promising in saying my phone won't ring on every text and email. Why make the volume revert back like this automatically??

It looks like your on vibrate mode. So the phone shouldn't ring or make a noise when a txt comes in.
Or am I not understanding your question?
