Sorry Snowytop....I've never heard of this manufacturer. Have you tried contacting your carrier for a handset replacement if it's still under warranty? Good luck, hopefully you'll be able to find a solution.

Are you sure the volume is all the way up for media? Can people hear you when you talk to them on the phone?

I haven't heard of this issue on any other android phone, so I'm not sure where you're getting your information, but given the brand of the phone, I'd be more likely to blame the quality of the manufacturer than the software.

Sound volume has nothing to do with microphone volume in record mode. If the sound is recorded at the right level and it is simply playing back too low but only on the phone, yet plays back normally on a pc for instance, then it's the sound or volume levels of the phone, otherwise it's a microphone level issue or the application is not compatible with your phone. I would recommend trying another recording app.

It's not the volume levels on the phone if it will, in fact, play videos downloaded or otherwise loaded from another source at the proper volume, but not videos/recordings that you make, as all media is affected by the same volume setting whether you recorded it on the phone or got it elsewhere, so I agree with FoxKat that you might try a different app. There are plenty in the Play Store to choose from.
