software "update"

If it's a new GB update, how would we FXZ so that can get the ICS OTA?

If your on 232 or below you would have to fxz back to 905, then take this ota patch and stay on gb until the ota ics, unless the 235 & 238 leaks are compatible with this newest version of gb, which could be why their security settings changed preventing the fxz back to 905. Again that is if the update the rep spoke about was only a patch and not ics.

Thanks! I'm on 232, so this sounds good.

Via Email (Denz) 08/30/2012 12:11 PM Dear Virgil,

Thanks for reaching out to Motorola. I’ve reviewed your e-mail and I’m ready to help.

Regarding your concern, ICS for Droid Bionic is expected to roll out anytime within quarter 3 (July-September) of 2012. The phone has been identified to get the update but we do not have a specific time for the roll out. Please refer to this link for future ICS announcements:

Denz Customer By Web Form (Virgil Clinton) 08/30/2012 07:12 AM this article is simply a travesty to verizon and motorola concerning my 2 bionics. if only i had funds for an outright purchase of a sgs3 or razr maxx... bionic broke me on fondness of motorola products. and up to now i was a Loyal Moto fan.

I find it odd that they didn't acknowledge that early q3 has come and gone after linking you to a site that still states that date. Early and mid q3 are gone. Late q3 starts day after tomorrow. So they effectively told you that we were 31 days or less from ics.

Well I must say as much as I liked the look and feel of ics on my phone, my connection issues are far less freguent right now on .905. It has gone back to 3g just a couple of times today as opposed to staying on 3g. Disappointing though to have a phone work so well for about a year only to have it start crapping out now. Maybe the update or signed ics will fix my issues.

Fortunately my data has been exemplary on GB and ICS. The main thing I was looking for from ICS was fluidity, dual core support, and processing efficiency. I got those things. I really don't trust verizon to let moto officially give me as good an ics as I already have. I'll wait for feedback on the OTA and go from there. I think you meant official, they're all signed or you couldn't flash from stock recovery.

Yes, sorry I did mean the official ota. I loved ics while I had it but about 4 days ago my phone started freaking out, loosing 4g or my data all together. Going back to 905 was a last resort and while things aren't perfect right now it is much better. I think I have a hardware issue with my bionic, it worked flawlessly until about Saturday or Sunday, so a warranty claim may be in my future, especially since data drops are "a known issue with the bionic" (vzw rep)

I suspect that there IS an update coming. For the last 5 days or so, I've had data drops in places that are usually stable. The last time this happened was in the week before 905 OTA hit. It makes me think that VZW is making 'back-end' changes prior to OTA.

Just sayin' (definiition:Totally anecdotal and lacking in any scientific proof empirical or otherwise).

I suspect that is mere coincidence, but I have about the same "proof" that you do. None.

Just wish they would fix this. Motorolla designed a great phone with the Bionic-they just need get this software squared away.

With the hardware we have, this device should spit fire. If the software was adjusted accordingly.

My Bionics update is greyed out and won't let me even check for an update. Anyone else having this issue?
