Soft-bricked Droid DNA -- any hope to recover this phone?

Hi all,

I spent several hours searching for the solution and I had no luck. I picked this phone up on craigslist for parts, but now I'm hoping to figure out a way to bring it back to life. The previous owner tried rooting the phone and deleted the rom in TWRP. I picked it up from where he left off and I cannot get Windows XP to recognize this phone as an external drive so that I can copy a rom onto it (I also tried Windows Vista, 7, and Mac OS).

When I connect the phone to the computer it does recognize as an external drive, but when I try to open it I get a message saying "please insert disk into drive E:". See pics below.

I installed HTC Sync in hopes it will give me drivers that will help, but no luck. Is there anything else I can try to load a rom onto this phone?

get adb running with this pack
http://omniimpact.com/android/roms/myfishbear/Droid DNA/Support files/DNA_Hackpack_with_adb.rar
then install the adb driver as well.
dl a rom and place it in the adb hackpack folder http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22897186102575372
open a cmd window in that folder using ctl and rt click
plug in the phone and in the console type adb sideload rom.zip (you have to select adb sideload in advanced in twrp as well)

after that id s-off the phone before you update it otherwise cyanogen mod and other roms wont work right http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155069

help. my dna wll not turn on. i plug it up to the pc and the pc will beep. for some reason it wont connect. i need the dna driver. i cant put it into bootmode. help please
