I just cant understand what Motorola is thinking. How can they charge more than the ipads price. I know that its better spec wise, but Honeycomb HAS NEVER EVEN BEEN USED BEFORE. They are charging a sky high price for something that most people are completely unfimiliar with. And also they are supposedly not allowing wifi untill you buy a month of data. I have never heard of wifi being disabled on any divice that offers it. This sounds ridiculous and almost offending. i thought they would have learned with the Galaxy Tab, but it looks like they haven't. So no, i probably wont get a Xoom, mabye a Tab 10.1 or Flyer though.
LTE is the reason. The LTE radios are expensive. To make a profit off it, the price had to go up $70. They had to do that or charge it when they upgraded the hardware, which would have angered people more than this final price.
I would love one, but am a) waiting for the price to come down and b) waiting for WiFi. I am also considering the iPad. I'm waiting for the iPad 2 to come out, and then I will evaluate all the tablet options before I pick one.
I'm not waiting on this one...buying it Thursday! BB has the buy back so if something better does come out, I will trade it in. But looking at the specs of the future ones, doesn't seem likely.
Guess you haven't looked to the specs of the quad cores which will be out in August. As soon as they come out is when I plan on getting one. The Xoom won't even have Flash at launch
