So im still on the leaked 2.3.9 from...August? Anyway, I have constant crashes while playing music and anytime i connect to the computer, which i do often for work, theres a good chance it will lock up for a few minutes.

So I've been thinking of upgrading to the "legit" current version. First off, is it worth it, or still bug filled? Second, do i have to do a factory reset first, then update, or can i just update? I assume reset first, but im not sure.

PS - Im rooted right now too, so again i assume i have to unroot first? Clarification would be nice.

Time to upgrade. 2.3.34 is much more stable than a deprecated leak. You'll have to use the SBF, since the version you're on isn't going to be recognized as eligible for being updated automatically no matter what you do. Read one of the many many guides out there for flashing the SBF. Personally, I hate RSDLite and have had great success with the Linux method.
