and all I will say is if you decide to go to 800mhz then you better stick with it because if you go back to 550 after experiencing 800 or above, some of the love that you originally had for the phone will disappear lol

Not happening here. That loss of love, rather. I've not gone above 800, but I can tell you that the way I have things setup on my phone, there is only the slightest difference in performance between 550 and 800. In fact, the only place you notice it is opening the weather animation in Beautiful Home, which opens about a fraction of a second quicker.

Wow, there is either something wrong with your phone or your not really running 800. The speed difference is noticeable in everything.

Or maybe I am just not as susceptible to "perceived" performance? Or maybe my ROM just simply runs better than the bloated ones out there?

;)

There is nothing wrong with my phone, and yes, I even benchmarked it using setcpu. It does perform better, benchmark wise, at faster speeds.

Oh I forgot to mention, it booted up faster at 800. But being I don't reboot all that often... :)

I saw a greater performance gain optimizing the apks on my phone than I did overclocking to 800.

So why did you do it?

i am at 800mhz and there is no going back. there is also no going higher because if i decide i don't feel safe running higher i'm sure it'll feel slower back at 800. although i really don't see there being much difference between 800 and 950. there is a lot bigger difference between 550 and 800, than between 800 and 950.

800 is good enough for me. it's fast and i still feel safe.

we can always just use setcpu to back it off if we want to experience 550 again. i have messed around with 250 and 550 after i've been at 800 and it definitely feels slower when i back down.

I notice it across the board...and its not a "placebo effect".

I have my profile set to drop to 550 when it gets below 15% and I know when it switches without having to see that it switched...everything gets slow and laggy.
