Factory wiping your phone is the only way to get the stock slider back. You can buy Widget Locker from the market for 2 dollars, but it isnt the stock slider, and its an app that always has to be open.

go to settings > location and security > setup screen lock > none.

I use an app called no lock.

I use the app NOLOCK too. It works to deactivate the screen slide lock. Get it at AppMarket.
