Every guy that says it is working is usually a tmobile guy as far as the voice part is concerned.

I actually got it working... I was asking to see if something was wrong with my device.

Go into settings
About device
Status
And write down your device number.

Log into voice.google.com and go to google voice settings.
Add a phone
Drop in your device number.
A verificarion window will pop up... Becuase you can't accept calls... just close this window.

Launch the google voice app on the tab and the wizard should complete this time.

The problem seems to be that the tab doesnt send sms messages consistantly if at all, though I receive them consistantly.
After I got GV working I didnt go back to do any further testing to pinpoint the problem... But its for sure something to do with sending sms messages.

should clarify I am not using it in conjunction with Skype but for texts and voicemails it has been working with no problems on my Verizon Galaxy Tab since launch day.

Google Voice setup is not available on mobile devices.

That is what I get when I sign in to google voice. Can you help?

hopefully eventually yes, the hardware is definitely there, as this is identical to the UK version which does work as a phone, however someone has to figure out how to "turn those capabilities on" rooting the device does nothing other than give you "super user" permissions on it. so if you know how to manipulate the software and OS to allow calling then yes, root the device manipulate the software and it will make calls.

It also says this Please access Google Voice from a desktop or laptop computer to setup your Google Voice account.
