SholesMod Updater 2.0.1 Step by Step (Sticky?)

and it goes on and on with many many more. since i have an error thats similar, but not the same message i just wanted to verify that this is related to the same issue with the servers being down?

This is not related. You've rooted using an incompatible root exploit. You need to apply http://downloads.sholes.info/update-root.zip

Ok so i applied this thing and now its saying my phone is already rooted but i need to click the remember box... i never have gotten this prompt. how do i get it?

I really do apologize if this has been asked a lot lately....but what is the smoked glass theme?

Obviously if I choose wipe data, I just have to set up everything again (like out of the box), correct?

Not to wipe and everything will stay the same....whatever texts I have, correct?

Just there are threads and threads of rooting and I cannot find my answers.

Yes you have to reflash if you choose to have update to the newest version of Sholes which i believe currently is the 2.0.3. Personally i'm sticking with the 2.0.2 version cause i have no issues whatsoever. Plus i don't see any differences in the two right now. Personal preferance really. I've seen people post no problems with the 2.0.3 and i've seen people post that they do, so up to you my friend. Good luck ,,

After being disappointed earlier today by finding out Motorola jumped the gun on that 2.1 update I decided to give this a shot and hot diggity dog I'm happier than kid on Christmas morning. That overclock to 800MHz makes a noticeable difference and the prettiness of the smoked glass theme is awesome.

Just tried installing 2.0.2 SholesMod and got an error before the SPR Recovery part. How do I go about redoing all of this? Stupid question, but would prefer not to ruin my phone.

Just installed 2.0.3, Thought you should know what I came across.

- App Launcher force closes 3 out of 5 times.
- Maps will not launch...only option is force close.
- Apps I chose to be removed aren't (corporate calendar, visual voice mail, etc.)

Just a couple minor things, no biggie. Going to 2.0.2.

Are you using the 2.1 launcher or the 2.0.1 launcher with 5 screens?

And thats crazy how everyone's phones are different because I just flashed Sholes 2.0.3 (for the 2nd time) and my Maps work fine, and the apps I chose to remove are removed......I've never had these problems outta Sholes or any other ROM for that matter...

After rooting and unrooting with the app for the last hour, I figured it out.

Running 2.0.3 flawlessly. Overclocked at 800 MHz. The reason why I was getting force closed is beyond me. I did read in another thread (think it was the 2.0.3 release thread) that if you get multiple Force Closes, the best way to avoid it is wipe data. I did exactly that and no FC's so far (knock on wood), Maps, GPS, all working great.

I was using the Home Launcher with 5 screens but switched to the 2.1 launcher instead. I was finding myself trying to fill empty screens. Worst case scenario, I could always switch back.

Everything about this is great, the MT maps, MT stock browser, MT gallery and the new design. To hell with the 2.1 OTA update. I assume I would have to load the SDK on my PC again to take screen shots, right?

WELL WORTH THE $5!!!!!!

Don't you think that multi-touch Milestone browser is rather heavenly?
