You'll need to CD to the folder that has adb in it. If your SDK is setup correct, then type this : CD c:\sdk\plattform-tools. Then hit enter

I just connected my nexus 6 to my laptop, and it recognized it automatically, my desktop on the other hand is all screwed up, what a waste of time.

Unlocked and rooted using Wugs toolkit, man that was easy as taking candy from a baby. I now have WiFi tethering enabled using my unlimited data plan, no more foxfi, it is easy as pie to set up, you just need to add this line to the root script all the way at the bottom, using root browser from the app store, the line should read net.tethering.nonprovisioning=true ,type it in all the way at the bottom, then attach the line using tool script. Then reboot.
