Thanks ibebyi and skull one. I adjusted my profiles similar to what ibebyi posted. This is my first time playing with profiles since I have been feeling that battery life can be improved. And I've been hearing good things about Sapphire 1.0.0's battery life.

Having taken a look at this I realized there is a problem with my settings. lets say the battery temp gets to 44 (not impossible) but is also under 20%. In this case it would go to 550 instead of 400 as the temp profile is of higher priority. So I think it should look like this:
1. Screen off 400/125 (amended to address lag issues)
2. Battery < 21% 400/125
3. CPU Temp > 63.0C 550/125
4. Temp > 43C 550/125
5. Charging/Full 550/125
6. Battery < 41% 600/125

In other words, as you decrease the clock speed you should keep it higher in your priority queue. Have fun ;)

thanks again for your info. just changed the priorities.
i found my phone lagging a bit on waking up, such as showing black screen for like a second while the phone is ringing. well guess i can corp with that when i know that i am saving a lot of battery life. right? was considering set screen off to 800/125. thought its too much. what should i do on this? i mean i do wanna save battery life but also want my phone to run smoothly.
also, just installed WaterMark theme and had my default on 125/800.
it lagged a bit when i tried to open the main menu and in general. so increased the speed to 125/1000. worried about the battery not running long but seems to be fine. its probably due to the profile settings, i guess.
do you think increasing it to 125/1000 will give a big damage on the battery life?

FUNNY you should ask that question! LOL

Do I have a post for you to read :)

Sleep/Staby with 125/1000Mhz during a 20 minute period using ondemand and interactive governors

You will see in the top part of the chart, that I ran your very question. The results were very surprising. Now this is only a 20 minute run but I bet when I do the 8 hour test later this week or next I get similar percentages.

That may not help you. Basic tasks should not be lagging at 800 or 900 MHz. So this may not be the best kernel for your phone.

If the lag doesn't stop, try another kernel! Believe it or not, there is a difference between using an 800 MHz kernel and using a 1.0 GHz kernel maxed out at 800.

Every phone is different. Mine runs great with 1.0 GHz, but many tasks are actually snappier on the 800 MHz kernel!

virtueoftheabsurd brings up a very good point.

Thank you virtueoftheabsurd for pointing that out.

Voltage is a key in "laggy" response. If the voltage is too low, the ECC (error correction) system kicks in and has to keep correction failed writes to memory. Which in turn slows down the OS. You will notice if it is really bad by unexplained high temps. And laggy can be the second major indicator.
