I was at verizon yesterday and got a Charge. I asked the rep if he knew when the Bionic was coming out. He said it wasn't. Period. Zip. Nada. No Bionic at all. Really. I didn't ask him any questions after that.

Why even bother asking this....reps do not know anything about releases until a week before...also, you must of missed verizons tweets about it coming...plus all the photo leaks and release date which is august 4

I actually figured he wouldn't know. I just wanted to see what he would say. I figured he would make up a date or something. I was going to point out some of those things to him.

Verizon employees are morons. Plain and simple. I mentioned the fact that my wife's Droid 1 had a faulty proximity sensor and he looked at me like I was practicing sorcery. They're there to sell you a phone. That's it. Period.

All the employees at my local Verizon look like soldiers from Starship Troopers. Kinda weird.

I had that same discussion about my original Droid with Vzw. Stupid proximity sensor never worked right, hung up on every call and the rep wouldn't even acknowledge there was a problem. I don't ever go to them with a problem unless I need to exchange our something. The forums help more!

You say Verizon employees are morons? Do you mean all Verizon employees? I am a Verizon Sales Rep. Are you calling me a moron? I promise you that I will go up against you any and everyday in phone knowledge and win. I agree that there are some reps who are clueless, and I also know that many people go to authorized retailers and believe they are dealing with Verizon employees, and most of those reps are clueless.

I think the keyword here is "most". Those of us who tweak our phones, check out specs for the next best device, and try and solve just about every oddball problem out there are bound to be more knowledgeable about Android and its devices than the average person. Heck, most people would rather be doing something else than commuting into work and for those people their job is not one of their passions. Most people skate by in life, heck we all could probably put more effort into everything we do but you are right in that lumping all people into a category is a bad thing to do.

We tend to gripe about the bad traffic but never brag about the days we just breeze right in without any problem at all. That makes it easy to say drive in always is a pain.

Any employee not constantly reading for news about their employee is likely to not know which product is coming up next, let alone when it will be released. Especially when their bosses haven't held a meeting to tell them.
