What are the improvements with 2.3.340 ?

Do you think it's worth coming out of 2.2 root, deodex, and theme for the upgrade?

Honestly? If its an update from Verizon there will be no improvements.

This is why I will continue to run 2.3.15 until I upgrade phone. No updates, no leaks. They are useless, to me at least.

The dialer has been improved. The media player is MUCH more stable now. Also, it looks like the baseband version has been updated, and I'm hopeful that the 3G bug has been fixed.

You have that issue too? I got no lock from market and tried that all day with no restarts. Only thing about it is any button turns on screen. But I don't mind that.

The other cool thing is when you get off a call you don't have to unlock again.

This is what i've been trying to find out forever. No one seems to know or want to respond. Does it fix the camera not focusing properly when using the on screen button or the lock screen random reboots? Those are really my only too complaints. Running APex rom currently and it's the best!

I'm currently on 2.3.340 courtesy of TBH. I've only had that lock screen reboot happen once, and that was months ago before this update. Camera seems to focus just fine when I press the on screen button.

My only main concern was this random CPU glitch I kept encountering. There was something on my phone, a process hidden from the user, that kept ramping the CPU to 100% and would stay like that until the phone rebooted. I have a feeling it was a bug in the kernel, because *every* rom I tried encountered that problem. So far its been fine, but I'll have to go at least a week before I give it the okay.

I'm pleased at all the little bug fixes they've made. I'm disappointed that the old root method, along with Super One Click, doesn't work anymore. Not sure if I was doing something wrong, but every time I ran RageAgainstTheCage it just locked the phone up and crashed adb. z4root will work for now, but what happens when Gingerbread comes out? *worried*

I did the on-dx root via terminal emulator. I guess if I did the update, i'd probably go z4 root style....but since I'm not touching crap right now just hanging to see what other guinea pigs say. So far...not enough to peak my interest.

I did the on-dx root via terminal emulator. I guess if I did the update, i'd probably go z4 root style....but since I'm not touching crap right now just hanging to see what other guinea pigs say. So far...not enough to peak my interest.

Yea I'm going to hold out too. The camera issue is related to what appears to be a focusing problem when using the flash. It never seems to focus correctly even when holding it perfectly still. This is while in Auto and using the on screen button.

The battery manager crash seems to be fixed. Nice to be able to see what's using battery again. Bug fixes and some more bloatware seem to be the main ingredients. I'll suffer one for the other.

Amazing...another thing that has never happened on my dx. I've heard others talk of it too.

Well the stock 2.2 has one...just not a frequency line level based type of eq. Looks like this.
