Search does not work for me

I went hunting for some threads about word spelling. After several different attempts I concluded that the search function just doesn't work at all. My very last experiment went like this: I just went hunting for the word "SPELL". A great number of results came back and none of them contain the word "SPELL".
Any suggestions?

If you scroll to the top of the page, to the right there is the "Advanced Search" function. Once you click that you can filter your results to contain "spell" in either the title only, the body of the post/thread, etc. Give that a try and see if it helps you narrow down your results.
