word suggestions on Google search

I updated to kitkat several days ago and hadn't seen any problems, but just today noticed that when using Google search I'm not getting word suggestions on the top of the keyboard. It's pretty annoying when my phone doesn't know what I'm trying to spell and i can't Swype it in. Not sure if this started right after i updated or it just started today. Works fine on texts and while I'm typing this, only noticed on Google search so far. Anyone else have this problem and anyone know a fix? Thanks

Its a KitKat Google Now thing... My Nexus 4 and Moto G do (or rather don't do) it either... Sorry, Google auto-complete is the best your gonna get.

That's pretty stupid, makes it Pretty hard typing with Swype technique. Thanks for the reply, hopefully they'll realise it's dumb and fix it.
