Very well said Scribble. I have been SCREAMING this same thing at both Motorola (and Verizon for what it's worth) ever since I bought my Bionic back in September and this issue has been driving me crazy!!! I have almost ALL of the Gameloft games that I bought when using my Droid-X. Most of them have really large data folders that must be stored in the "SDCard" area which now happens to be the small 8GB of internal space on the Bionic whereas before these data folders were stored on my actual 32GB SDCard which as you mentioned (for all practical purposes IS USELESS because the games won't look there for their data). I can't tell you how many times I have seen errors telling me that I have no more room to install apps on my Bionic, something that I have NEVER seen on my Droid-X...EVER!!!! I am always having to get rid of something in order to make room to install something new which is BULLSH*T for a brand new powerhouse of a phone like the Bionic!! This has caused me to have to really pick and choose what to put on the Bionic because less than half of the data from my Droid-X will even fit...making me feel even less that the Bionic is an upgrade from the DX because it holds SO MUCH LESS!!
Don't get me wrong, I DO LOVE the upgrade in other areas (Dual Core, 4G LTE speeds, higher resolution, etc.) but I want all the same apps and games that I have come to love over the years from my previous Android devices, which should be a simple task. I should feel like the Bionic can do all that my DX and other Android phones could do but it doesn't feel that way because of this memory issue.
Like you, I have also been told that Ice Cream Sandwich will resolve all of this but until then, that remains to be seen, and I have learned by now to NOT believe much until I see it for myself. We'll see, but I just wanted to share my experiences with you to let you know that I also feel your pain VERY MUCH, so you are not alone in this issue although it doesn't seem to be talked about very much IMHO. I remember several months ago asking both Motorola AND Verizon technicians if there would be any issues/problems like this one if upgrading from the DX to the Bionic and ALL said "No. There will be no issues at all going from the one phone to the other."...but now I see that was not exactly true. If I knew then that I would have to sacrifice so many of my apps and games from my previous phones, I would have probably waited to buy my Bionic AFTER Ice Cream Sandwich was released. That's my 2 cents, or maybe 5 cents actually.
