Screen protector needed???

So both my wife and I just got the fascinate. I had Verizon put their screen protector on but my wife didn't. My screen now looks like crap and everytime I use her phone I think about ripping my screen protector off.

Will the Zagg look better than the Verizon (Verizon one makes everything look a little pixelated)?

They say this screen can't scratch but everyone with the iphone says their's doesn't scratch either but when I look at their iphones I always see a few scratches. I guess I'm just a little more observant (anal).

Thoughts???

Verizon sold me on thier crappy screen protectors too. I put mine on and it had an imprint of the "tab" that you pull off when installing the protector. This resulted in about 3/4 of an inch line on the screen. I took it off and tried another. Same thing. So then i read about it being Gorilla Glass and took them off altogether. I'm just out the money I spent on the protectors, and probably wotn be buying anymore

Personally, I always get a screen protector. Although there are all those videos of keys, nails, etc not able to scratch gorilla glass, there are other things that can, such as sand.

i'd like to think that the glass on phones cant scratch, but on several different droid1's i got fairly noticeable scratches. i didnt ever have sand or anythings, but just from it tapping my keys or anything like that. this glass isn't actually magically (hate to disappoint..)
verizons anti glare ones do mess up the screen, but steinheil makes GREAT ones for other phones (if they dont have them for the fasinate yet) .
so i think its a good idea if little hairline scratches will annoy you.

Would it have been the anti-glare ones? They look horrible!

I had the Zagg on my Droid for about 20 seconds. Never could get it done right without any dust or hair (even using the supplied cleaner). After it flipped out of my hand onto the floor I gave up.

My Droid is in a holster and have had no problems since last November.

I got the same result as you. Completely unusable. They only cover a portion if the screen plus with the tab mark, they look like crap.

What a waste of money!

steinheil makes really good screen protectors. and they are easy to apply. all those ones that need liquid are impossible for me

phantomskinz has the samsung fascinate. I already ordered one and it's on it's way.

Thanks for letting me know. I normally use Bestskinsever.com on my past blackberry's but this is my first touch screen.

Do you know how phantomskinz compares to bestskinsever?

Did you get the screen protector only or full body? I was thinking about just getting the screen and using a case but maybe I will get the full body and skip the case so it fits my pocket better...

Thanks for the thoughts everyone.

I googled some reviews about phantomskinz, I hear they're good as zagg or better. Not sure how they would compare to bestskinsever.

Zagg is about the same as bestskinsever.

I think I'm going to order one. The only other question is what is this Chromatic skin the site is talking about. Did you order this as well or just the clear full body skin?

I ordered the Zagg already and just waiting for it to come in. If you sign up for their ipad give away you get a coupon code for 50% off.

I had Ghost Armour on my D1 and it worked great. I'm anal about dust and dirt and bubbles under screen protecters, but this went on fine. Took a little over a week to dry out and for all the bubble to go away, but no problems with it otherwise. They didn't have one yet listed for the Fascinate so I went for the Zagg.

Right now i'm protecting it with a GPS screen protector I had gotten from Target for my GPS. It's almost wide enough but too short, but does the trick until the real one comes on. It alread saved me since the phone met the floor in the car. Driveway dirt scratched the protector, but the screen is okay.

Yeah, I got the chromatic skin specifically the carbon black one anyways I will write a review on it once I get it.
