screen lock confusion

Hey folks

Still new here but I am trying to solve this erk I have and the searches I have looked up don't seem to answer this.

I may completely say this wrong so bare with me.

It bothers me to press the screen button then do the slide. I have seen the lock apps but this is my rube.

My screen is set to go off after 2 min...my security is set to 15 min. No matter what after the screen goes dark, i still have to unlock the phone with a swipe. Do I have setting jacked up that I am not getting? Does one trump the other?

The phone is rooted.

Unless you use an app like nolock you will always have to slide to unlock any time the screen goes dark. That security setting is so that if the screen has been off for 15 minutes then you will either have to enter your pin or pattern lock.

I use No Lock. It's free. With a simple tap locking is disabled, except for when the phone reboots. It is locked when it first boots up, after that it's not, and no swiping to unlock it when the phone is in use.
