Screen keeps automatically getting brighter

I am super happy to have a Sammy phone again. The droid turbo lasted me 6 months, went with the edge and love it.
The screen will automatically get really bright when the sun or bright light hits it. This happened with the turbo, I was told the camera sensor will cause this to happen.
Is there a way to make the screen this bright all the time or another setting it am missing to turn it off

The Samsung devices with lollipop have a setting , ludicrous bright, that only works when set to auto. It's great for short time usage but you can literally watch your battery drop while it's on also. There might be apps out there, such as ScreenDim, that let you tweak the settings to brighter than normal, like they do dimmer than normally possible but the battery hit will be tremendous.

My screen is not set on auto. Full blast all the time.

My screen still has a random dim and the super bright thing happening.
I don't use auto and always have my screen on full blast. Is there other options that could be causing the dim?
