Saving Files to Internal memory

So I dont have an SD card and I want to save a epub file that I download from the internet to internal storage and then open it with aldiko and I cant.

Everytime I go to download it tells me it wont because it cant find the SD card. I cant for the life of me find any setting that will change the default download location.

Similary when I get an MMS in handcent sometimes I would like to save the pictures to the photos folder, but it also wants to put it on the SD card. How can I fix any of this?

best way is to just get a card, even the 2GB that came with phone is enough.
some apps need a card to function

I dont use handcent, so not sure about it
