Next up for the hot hot hot news items of this crazy Tuesday morning is a leaked video promo for a new Samsung Galaxy (probably the Galaxy S7 Edge). The first #TheNextGalaxy video was posted on YouTube by the Indonesian arm of Samsung. The most notable thing in the video besides the wireless charging is that the device is being shown in use in the rain and covered in water droplets.
This would obviously lead to the conclusion that the device will be water-proof; however, in the description of the video, it says, "*The scene in the video is for dramatization purposes only. This product is not water resistant and it should not be exposed to and/or submerged into water/liquid." This seems very weird to basically promote water-resistance visually, but then try and back-track in the video description.
That's not all that appears strange when you pay even more attention to the video. The phone being shown off looks suspiciously like the Galaxy S6 Edge. It's possible that Samsung is using a Galaxy S6 Edge as a teaser promo before the unveiling. Either that or the Galaxy S7 Edge looks nearly identical to the Galaxy S6 Edge from the front. It's also possible that the Galaxy S7 Edge will be water-resistant, but Sammy doesn't want us to know that before their press event... but why leak the video then?
It's all a bit baffling. Be sure to share your theories in the thread below, and check out our dedicated Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge section for further discussions: Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Plus, S7 Edge & S7 Edge Plus
You can check out the video in the thread below if it doesn't get yanked after we post this story.
[Update: We added some additional info after investigating further that seems to confirm much of this report. You can check it out in the thread below.]
