Our own @Jeffrey dropped that minor bombshell on us this morning about a new Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus coming in a few weeks. Apparently, some leaked images of the Edge version of the device are now available.

Interestingly, along with the 5.5-inch display that is curved on both sides adorning this device, It is expected to feature a surprsing choice in processors. Supposedly, Sammy is using the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor instead of one of their Exynos chips. If you think about it, this makes sense. Since their factories can only crank out a limited supply of that chip, they need to focus building more of them for the more popular device: the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

Either way, just as many of us wondered in @Jeffrey's thread... why is Sammy even doing this? Obviously they want to follow/copy Apple's marketing of the iPhone 6 Plus, but shouldn't they be worried about cannibalizing the success of their Galaxy Note 5 coming in September?

One of the images is shown above, and both can be seen in the thread below.

For some reason, I still haven't bought into or even like for that matter, the dual curved screen. Maybe it'll grow in me in time. I felt the S6 felt better to me in hand than the Edge.

on the move..

I like the plain Jane S6 over the Edge version as well even though I am typing this from the Note Edge.

Holding out for the Note 5 Edge! Hoping it would have usable Edges like the Note Edge did and Removable Storage again. 4GB of Ram would be nice too.

Which phone is it exactly that gives you all of that?
The S5 does. (Well, minus the FFS)
Samsung could have knocked it out of the park had they kept these features, but they were too concerned with starting from scratch and doing a complete redesign.
.....as opposed to keeping the features that have kept Samsung fans coming back for more year after year.
It'll be interesting to see what they do on the S7.

S5 tap'n

The S5 was my wife's favorite phone. She reminds me of it every time she has a problem with her Note 4 lol.

I recommended the S5 to my friends father. I told him it was probably the best all around device of that time and the specs still hold pretty well today.

on the move..
