According to the latest rumor, Samsung might be working a bit ahead to make sure that the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge stay on the cutting "edge" of software. Supposedly, the two flagship phablets might be skipping the 5.0 version of Android Lollipop and go straight to the 5.0.1 version.

It actually wouldn't be too surprising if this turned out to be true. Google cranked out 5.0.1 pretty quick after the initial 5.0 rollout still contained a few bugs. Because of the timing, it makes more sense for Sammy to work on adopting this newest version rather than working on two versions at once.

Only if they can switch versions and still get it out in a timely manner!

C'mon Sammy! Plenty of the other OEMs have shipped lollipop to their current flagships. Let's do this. I'm ready!

I'm assuming there's not that much difference in the overall coding of it, so if they were getting close with 5.0, it's not an incredible leap to think that they could toss in the improvements from the .1 release and still be on track.

But let's go!
