The press conference that was scheduled for Monday, August 29 by Samsung Mobile has been cancelled and rescheduled for Tuesday, August 30. The event was cancelled due to mother nature’s decision unleash hurricane Irene on the east coast.

Although nothing has been confirmed by Samsung, the everyone is expecting Samsung to finally launch their flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S II. The Galaxy S II is going to be available on Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
Verizon was supposed to also receive the Galaxy S II, but it was recently announced that the phone won’t be landing on Big Red’s network. Instead, it looks like the upcoming Nexus phone, the Nexus Prime, is going to be Samsung flagship that lands at Verizon.

We’ll be sure to bring you all the news from Tuesday’s announcement. Until then, avoid Irene if possible.

I haven't seen this posted anywhere else and I know a lot of us are looking forward to what they will have to say.
