Running Apps,Tether,Overheat

Hey all, well after reading everything about whether to run Task Killer or not I decided not. However, I'm going to be needing to tether through my Droid2 for a while and I've been having problems with overheating. I go into app mgmt and kill all unnecess running apps but you know how that goes, most of them just boot right back up, which even happens with ATK as well. I think I saw a mention of a higher end battery that may help. So I am concerned that i'm ruining my battery and possibly stressing other components in my Droid with heat problem. I mean it can get really really hot. I would certainly appreciate any input on this dilemma of mine, thanks.
