Are you sure they are announcing something about an iPhone to Verizon and not their new tablet? They are announcing their new tablet today, shortly.

it's just speculations right now for the iphone on vzw. tablet for sure.... we'll find out shortly...

Apple has no one left to turn to, ATT in the last week has said Apple and its iphone has tarnished it reputation and is happy to see it go. The only thing that has held up Apple going to Verizon is Steve Jobs greed and that being what he wants off every iphone sold.

Tarnish, if by tarnish att mean make them reputable yeah. With out the iphone sprint and verizon would be blowing them out the water. Other then old people who grew up on att the only att users are mainly iphone users.
Tarnish, if I was apple whether I am under contract or not I am selling phones to verizon, sprint, tmobile if i have to change the name from iphone to ifone just to do it.
I almost not surprised,when I called an att rep about my iphone they blamed apple. After i switched to verizon and the droid and I was getting my 3gs repaired and setup to send to my pops. I asked apple wtf, why I have to go through the act of God to get my phone repaired and they fingered att. So the back and forth and the fact that att picked up android and the dell phone helps to put a light on the strained "exclusive" relationship.

Without the iphone, at&t wouldn't exist. Iphone kept them afloat when at&t was going down a river of no return.
