We have another "pie in the sky" Google Nexus 8 Android tablet rumor to share with you today. This intel closely resembles the previous bit we shared here; however, this new report sheds additional light on some of the hardware details of this potential device. Here's the scoop:

Google Nexus 8 Tablet -
  • 8-Inch Display
  • Intel Atom "Moorefield" 64-bit 2.3GHz quad-core processor with enhanced performance memory
  • PowerVR G6430 GPU
  • Android 4.5
Supposedly, Google will announce the tablet later this year and it will be one of the first devices running their next iteration of Android, which will supposedly be 4.5. Using Intel hardware would be a substantial departure from the norm for Google, but we wouldn't put it past them. Despite this possibility, we are skeptical of this news, but thought it worth reporting.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see an Intel powered Nexus 8 device later this year?

Wow, very nice. I'd love to see something like that happen. It would be enough for me to buy that generation too. I currently have both of the Nexus 7 models. I'd add an 8 to my collection.

Let's just say I know a guy at Intel and can confirm the Intel Atom "Moorefield" 64-bit 2.3GHz quad-core processor with enhanced performance memory will be in the next Nexus tablet, and other OEM's like Acer, Dell, Microsoft, and Sony have expressed interest as well.
