Insider sources indicate the next flagship device from LG, the Optimus G Pro will launch much earlier than expected. Supposedly, the phone will now be coming at the end of February instead of the previously rumored March time-frame. This would mean the device will be unveiled at MWC and then launched for retail within the same week. LG plans get their phone out early, rather than have it launch at the same time as Samsung's next titan, the Galaxy S IV. If true, it is probably a pretty smart strategic move on their part.

Share your thoughts on this... do you think LG will be able to steal a bit of marketshare thunder before Samsung launches their market-killer, or will most folks wait to see what the "Next Big Thing" from Samsung is all about? It could go either way, especially considering the Optimus G Pro has some monster specs of its own. Here's a recap:
  • 5.5" 1080x1920 Full HD IPS-LCD
  • 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon with LTE radio
  • 2 GB of RAM
  • 13 MP rear camera
  • 2 MP front one capable of 1080 video
  • 3,140 mAh battery
  • 32 GB of internal memory
  • A microSD slot for cards up to 64 GB

It's a good idea to launch at this time. I really want to get hands on experience with the phone because say what you like, even though it is plastic, the galaxy s3 has a premium feel and the Samsung smart actions have kept me from looking at aosp anything so far.

5.5" is too big IMO. 5" is the magic number.

LG support is horrible. Had the Spectrum, hated support. waited forever for ICS.
