There is a tutorial on this in the hacks section. If you don't mind me asking why did you want to root?

Rooting gives you super user/administrator access. Usually when we root our devices it for tethering, romming, and modifying our phones.

You'll be fine as long as you don't remove/delete anything, all will run normally but if you really want to in root doomloard has a unroot method on xda forums I think I saw a thread posted here as well. I'd post a link but haven't figured how to do that lol.

Well, it kind of is like jailbreaking an iPod. But there's really no benefits to *just* rooting your phone. You need to google some and find out if the features that rooting offers are for you. If not, there's a fairly simple way to unroot. A quick rundown of some features available to your particular phone would be ROMs, tethering, access to root files, underclocking.

Well it kinda is but its more geared to putting custom roms and custom themes, over clocking and under clocking it. Some use it for tethering game systems and PC's. The o/c and u/c would only work if we had an unlocked bootloader which is a hot topic these days in the hacks forums. Unlocking the device basically give you complete control over your device so you can make changes on it just as a developer does on a computer.
