rooting trouble

Hi all, Just got 2 bionics from ebay, I want to root them but many of the rooting instructions say lace phone in sb charge only mode. Doesn't exist....only mass storage, MTP and PTP. running sys version 98.72.22.xt875. Have tried many of the available root progs but none recognize the fone. What prog would be appropriate with this sys version and what usb setting in lieu of charge only. usb debugging is checked.

Make sure you are using a good sub cable. Moto issued cable is best. Have you installed all OTAs?. If yes the how to root sticky will work.

I got Easy Root to work but not without some difficulty.

Follow the instructions very carefully.

I posted to that thread, detailing my problems and what I tried to fix them and what finally worked. Look through the entire thread to see other people's problems and what they did to fix them.
