Rooting the Pro

I have tried the z4root way and i had no luck with it at all... i am getting ready to try the manual root way to see if it works. Any of you have this phone rooted? if so, how did you do it?
I got rid of my X since i will be waiting for the Bionic... meanwhile i went ahead and activated my spare Pro... but i miss my wireless tether

nevermind, updated Z4root and it worked. yay!

I believe it exploits some sort of race condition and the timing is critical. There are reports that multiple attempts might be needed.

I've no clue what a "race condition" is, but I confirm that it sometimes needs multiple attempts.

I rooted my wife's Pro tonight using z4root.. First try I forgot to turn on Airplane Mode.. popped the battery out, started over..
Second try, I turned on Airplane Mode, did z4root, and was rooted less than a minute after I clicked Permanent Root.

Just sayin, it might be useful to have Airplane Mode turned on when you go to root. I didn't have near the trouble a lot of other people seem to have had.

Mine rooted in the first try with no airplane mode turned on. Never heard of using that. Guess I was lucky.
