rooted?

Hello, I recently upgraded to the htc rezound from my droid x. I was looking to sell my droid x on craigslist and was going to advertise it as rooted. But after doing a factory data reset on the x I'm not sure if the phone is still rooted or not. I can not check to see because it now makes you activate it before any use. Would this cause the phone to become unrooted? Is there any other way I can check without having the phone activated? Thanks for any help.
