I downloaded the 5.5.893 OTA, but ended up rolling back to .886. I had a hell of a time trying to root, but I finally did it. Now what? This is my first rooted phone, and I don't wanna get too crazy, but what are some useful apps for those who are rooted? I've got File Expert, Titanium Backup Pro and Cachemate. Any other suggestions?

AdFree would be my first suggestion, cache cleaner my second - both free in the market

Is it worth freezing apps? I don't wanna brick my phone by freezing the wrong one... I think I'll start freezing some when I get off work today. Does anyone know which ones I shouldn't touch?

That's the joy of freezing, if you start to get FC's on things, just unfreeze the last thing you froze... unless you froze multiple things at once, then use the power of deduction!

Anyone getting the not signed error on any of these "official" updates?

Not signed usually means it's a bad md5 match for a .zip that you are flashing in recovery. Use AFV Android file verifier and be sure your md5s match.I have been bitten a few times.

Also if you ever have apks that are giving an error during install try ZipSigner from market and then reinstall it usually works unless it was a corrupted download.
