So every morning I wake up with my phone asking if I want to update. It indicates that a 1.6M file is ready to install:). However, I can't find the file:icon_evil:! No update.zip on the SDCARD.

Did VZW change the name or location of the update file that they download?
:stupid:

Do you have a custom recovery installed? Are you running a Rom if so what?
How did you root?

i got the notification about 10 times and each time blocked by SPRecovery. I rooted the old fashioned way. Update.zip and then installed recovery and busybox. Running UD 8 right now. No notifications for the last month or so but i indeed did get the notification numerous times.

@FBM
If he is going to root and put a custom Rom or rooted version of FRG22D on anyway, it doesn't matter what version he roots from. Plus there is no FRG22D.sbf that I know of. That's why I suggested that one.

Now I'm Running

SPRECOVERY0.99.3b
DEODEXed FRG22 by P3Droid (as close as I could find to the real VZW image)
kernel 2.6.32.9-g103d848 android-build@apa26 #1 (?)

Originally rooted the update.zip and droid root helper way when they first came out long long ago last used universal Androot 1.6.1

experimented with many of pete's, chevy's, and others roms. I just want to stak current and make sure I'm not getting tagged by VZW as bad person on their network

VZW update says it pushed a 77MB file to me and told me to update but I can't find the file. The update.zip on the sdcard is still from Pdroid3. Re-installed then removed it and still got a update message the next day..from VZW...

Hello everyone. I have the Original Droid. Rooted with 2.2 and Bugless beast V0.4. For weeks I've been getting this annoying update pop-up from Verizon "system update available". I just kept hitting update later, they even sent me a text message stating "Your Droid has was sent the Android 2.2 update including Adobe Flash....Click here to update. Here's the problem. I went to load the newest ROM from Bugless Beast V0.5 and it WILL NOT go into recovery. Not with Rom Manager ,SP recovery or..... Power and X. Can someone help me?

But will I be able to go into recovery with this update on my phone? I heard some chatter that the update locks you out of doing that sort of thing

IF you're using ROM Manager you're not using SPRecovery, you're using Clockwork Recovery. Boot normally, get into ROM Manager, scroll to the bottom, and flash alternate recovery image, then flash ClockworkMod Recovery, then flash alternate, ClockworkMod, then alternate, then ClockworkMod again. Now try to get into recovery again and let us know how it goes.

Did you do the 3x alternating flash of SPRecovery and ClockworkMod Recovery? That was to put ClockworkMod Recovery back on your phone so you could install the BB v5 ROM.
