Rooted Droid X

I rooted my wife's phone using Pete's root tool so I could run open garden wireless tether but its not working, keeps throwing me back into the vzw page. So I uninstall open garden and then even the phones browser started redirecting me to the vzw page! Went back and unrooted and now its back to normal. But what happened? Any way around this?

You need to install wugs tether patch. Here's the link with instructions it's very simple. http://www.DroidXForums.com/forum/g...8-wugpacked-gb-tether-patch-all-one-zips.html you need that to tether on gingerbread.

You'll just need the droid 2 bootstrap app to install it. Droid 2 bootstrap is just an updated version of droidx bootstrap and works perfectly on gingerbread. If you already purchased droidx bootstrap you'll need to go in your phones settings > applications > development and make sure usb debugging is unchecked otherwise it won't work on gingerbread. With Droid 2 bootstrap just leave usb debugging checked.
