Hello,
Well I finally flashed back to 2.1 (because of freezing issues) and updated to 2.2 OTA.
Before updating I rooted via easy root and copied the SU from the system/bin folder to the xbin folder.

Now that I updated I cant regain access to superuser in fact neither can any of the rooted app's.
they are not getting granted access.

I must have done something wrong, how do I delete the SU file from the bin or xbin (think I copied instead of moved).
Or just delete the superuser app?

Thanks

I always preferred manually typing commands in. It let me know what was going on vs clicking a button and then you cross your fingers as all this whirring and shaking comes out of the phone:)

Doesn't mean the one button click methods don't work, but when you get done typing ten lines of commands is about just as easy as the 7 steps you have to take before you can click that one button anyways.

congrats;)

All the root apps say the device is rooted but when I open a app SU doesn't grant access.
I think its because I didn't remove SU from the bin folder?

The above process will work with this situation?

Thanks

Yes, you can do it all right from your dx phone. Download the files, follow the steps.

do you have the SDK loaded correctly?

If you type "adb devices" does it show your phone?

Well I was stuck now I think I got it.
Guess my last question is...
Since I OTA 2.2, and now have full operational rooted device, how do I un-root if I need to warranty replace this device?

I have always used the 1 step rot app's, not complaining just....

Thanks

After restoring or trying to (very slow) I am getting a lot of FC's, and the device seems to be bogging down.
Not sure from what since I updated / 2.2 OTA, and now rooted within minutes of each other.
Probably a dumb move.

Anything I can do or is there any direction that can be offered?

Thanks again

Should I take the no answer that its not possible to unroot?
