Root question........

Does it make any sense to hold off on rooting the droid until 2.2 is released ??

I don't think 2.2 has been rooted yet. If you root now...you won't get updates stating that 2.2 is ready for download. At this point, it's all up to you.

Once the source codes are released most of your custom ROMs will have all or most of what the 2.2 is rumored to have. I say "rumored" because we all know that once 2.2 gets in Verizon's hands they will take a lot of the good stuff out or alter it a lot. I say root now so that you can. I am sure 2.2 will be rooted just a matter of when.

Root it up! Like above post say, most custom ROMs will pretty much have 2.2 before stock.
