I'm going to probably root my bionic. I don't flash roms and will keep it stock. Just miss my adblock software from my OG rooted droid.

Will rooting affect netflix streaming or any other type of dlna streaming?

If you root and stay stock, it shouldn't affect DLNA streaming AFAIK.

Not necessarily. You may lose root, but you should still receive OTAs as long as you don't modify the system too much, i.e. uninstalling system apps.

If you want to root, you should get into some of the roms because there are some beast ones for the Bionic. There is always R3L3AS3D to restore to .886 with root and 4EV3R root for every OTA update. I was safestrapped, eclipse rom, and tested ICS rom, then to receive the latest .893 update I just used R3L3AS3D tool option "1" to go back to stock and reinstall root with 4EV3R root which allowed me to get the latest OTA and keep root.
