Excuse my rookieness...Some important contacts were save with the back up assistant on a not so smart phone before I even had my DX. Going through on the Bionic now, I can't seem to find a way to save those contacts as google contacts. Is there an easy way to do this that I am missing? Or do I have to add them to google separately?

There shouldn't be anything you have to do to add them to google... the phone sync's itself with the google account you signed on with as long as you set the sync to "on" when you set up the phone... you can check that setting in "my accounts" and I think there's a button to "sync now"

While I do agree that this should be the case. For some reason the are still differentiated. The back assistant contacts do not sync with my xoom (which is wifi).

The backup assistant contants do not automatically tranfer to Google contacts. You have to get on a PC, export the backup assistant contacts from the backup assistant website, then import those into google contacts. Its been a while since I've done it, but I'm sure a google search could get you step by step directions. Let us know if it works out.

Yeah, if I remember correctly you have to create a .csv file. I had to do it for my original Droid.

It was actually pretty easy to do. If you Google it you should be able to find the proper steps to take.

Got it done. Exported the backup assistant contacts to a csv file. Imported those into goole. Thank you all for your input.

See these forums are for much more than complaints!

Glad to hear it worked. Did you clear out the contacts in backup assistant so they don't show up twice?

You can root your phone now and get tether back. No need to wait for ICS, it's gonna be a while if you're waiting for the official ICS. There are alpha ICS ROMs out there now, but they're not quite ready to be daily drivers.

True it will be end of Q3 at the earliest. Would I still get the ICS OTA? If you wouldn't mind, could you email me detailed instuctions to root Bionic, an sbf (just in case), and a working tether? I would greatly appreciate it. The titanium backup I bought for my DX, will that still work with Bionic?

So I didn't think rooting could get easier than the DX, but low and behold, it is. So now, does anyone know where I can get a good tether and sbf for .902? Thanks in advanced.
