Is it possible to hear audible ringstones if ear bud is plugged into Droid2 G?

Yes, they play over the headphones and the outside speakers.

I'm getting rings over headset but not external speaker. Is there some location where that might be turned off for calls or notifications?

External speakers such as bluetooth speakers or car speakers. The normal ringtone plays through the back speaker.

No clue, it automatically does both on mine. Kinda wish it only did through headphones..... then i could turn the ringer on during school (i have atleast one headphone in for atleast half the school day)....
