I freeze absolutely everything I don't use. That doesn't have to do with system, moto and blur. I even freeze things like Google maps unless I decide to use it. News and Weather widgets that come stock, I freeze them all with Titanium Backup paid version.

The above helps my battery a lot. That and my display is set at 10% and I see it just fine.
