Ringtone settings question.

The Droid is my first Android phone and so far I love everything about it. I do have one question though. On my old smart phone there was a setting in the ringtone settings that said if there was an event on your calendar it would automatically put your phone into vibrate and back to normal when there is not. I use Google Calendar heavily so this would be very useful. Is there a setting I am missing in Android or is this not available yet. Thanks for the help.

Not available by default. I've yet to find an app that specifically does this. I usually just try to remember to slide to silent while in a meeting.

As far as I know, apps such as "Locale" allow you to customize settings based on your geographic location, time, etc. While I haven't seen it myself, I would imagine it could be linked through a calendar or at least would give you the functionality for a work around.

i wasn't ever able to figure out how to associate locale with busy times on the calendar. only times while at my desk, and that's IF it detected my GPS. i wasn't a fan of locale and now that they started charging $10 for it, i'll just slide to silent.

Fair enough. I wasn't a fan of it either and uninstalled. Nor did I have the time/patience to sit down and really customize it. I'm just saying it could be a work around of sorts.

The program you are looking for it called Setting Profiles Full, it will read your calendar looking for specific key words and change your phones setting based on the key word if find in your Calendar.
There is a free version and a pay version.
Hope this helps,

I had heard of another app called, Timeriffic. I've never used it but apparently it can adjust volume/ringtones based on certain events or time of day, but I'm not sure if it will provide all the functionality you're looking for. Check it out I guess.
