Ringtone Help Please?

Okay, I have two ringtones, both from apps. I set one as a Notification on my cell phone, the other ended up being my ringtone for whenever I get a txt on Handcent SMS. For some reason it works this way for a little bit and then the Notification ringtone just stops. I dont know why, so I go in and try to reset it and would you believe its not even in my list of ringtones anymore? So I have to go and redownload it, each and every time. I figured Id go inside the phone and look for it so I synced it up. The ringtones are downloaded onto my cell. However, once it mysteriously stops being my Notification tone it seems to completely vanish from the phone altogether.

Anyone have any ideas what my be wrong? My best guess is that the phone just doesnt like having two different tones, one for Notifications and one for txt, so this is what happens.
