Revoked problem

So every time I root with revoked, it works fine. But then, whenever I turn the phone off or try to install a Rom from recovery mode, the root goes away. Why is this? Also, is there any way to fix it? Thanks!

unrevoked

Install unrevoked forever via clockword recovery, then reboot, then install the latest clockwork recovery via recovery manager in android.

Could you post a video or like a step by step guide? I'm sorry I just switched from my x which I was good with but in drowning in all this HTC stuff haha
