Resize Avatar

I have a beautiful Avatar (photo) that I use on other Forums but it is 720x396 or 802kb (whatever the heck that means-I'm almost illiterate about these things) Is there anyway I can 'resize' and use it

You can resize it in any basic photo editing program, if no one else offers to resize it for you, or gives you an easy way to do it yourself before the day is over, I will resize it, you just have to wait until I get home this afternoon

Thanks for the prompt response but I think I might have figured it out--'copied' my Avatar from PGR website--then 'copied' from my photos--if you 'click' on my current avatar, I think you'll see a photo of a KIA Homecoming
