reseting the s3 to factory settings

I want to sell my s3(verizon) and want to erase all my info. Would reseting it to factory settings do this for me? Or do I have to something else?

Yup that should do. And make sure you take out the SD card or format it before selling as well if you have any of your info in there.

What about the sim card? Do I take it out when I sell it or leave it?

Take it out. The SIM card is unique to the account.
